What will it take to reach Washington D.C.?

Have you tried to do a major task in a short amount of time? Nehemiah did what seemed to be impossible by rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days while facing considerable opposition and challenges. In the summer of 2026, we are aspiring to get the Gospel to the 700,000 residents of Washington D.C. and many thousands of tourists in 61 days. To accomplish this goal, we will need God’s help and yours.

We will need the prayers of God’s people. Paul had a passionate desire and prayer to see his people saved in Romans 10:1. What could happen if believers across America prayed regularly for the residents of the nation’s capital to be saved through the power of the Gospel? One thing is for sure, it would only help. Pray that God will soften hearts to the message. Pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the way with conviction and power. Pray that the devil’s tactics of division and hate will be overcome. You can pray.

We will need volunteers to give of their time and energy to spend long days at the National Mall and in the wards to spread the Gospel. In Nehemiah’s day, they accomplished the task at hand because the people had a “mind to work” (Neh. 4:6). It will take hours of walking every day to distribute door hangers and gospel tracts in the wards. It will take hours of standing on the National Mall and other busy venues to distribute commemorative tracts and John and Romans. If youth groups and volunteers will partner will have a mind of work and partner with us, it can be done!

It will take money to reach the city in 61 days. Top-notch materials (like tracts and John and Romans) will need to be developed and designed for the special occasion. Direct mailing will have to be utilized to reach those in apartment complexes. Doorhangers with QR codes to take people to videos of salvation testimonies will be hung on thousands of doors. A barebones staff will have to be on the ground to train and guide volunteers. With the counsel and help of the advisory board, these funds will be used wisely and efficiently for this great task. A small gift can make an eternal difference.

It will take the wisdom from Heaven to accomplish the task. God has promised that we can have wisdom if we ask for it (James 1:5). He has also said that “wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy” (James 3:17). This task is bigger than any of us, but it is not bigger than God. We need His wisdom.

We will also need favor with man to get the job done. Daniel had favor with the price of the eunuchs in Daniel 1:9 and stood for God. The apostles had the favor of the multitude in Acts 2 and many were saved and added to the church. In the months before the campaign, we are asking the Lord to cause leaders in Washington D.C. to be sympathetic to our cause as we plan and work.

What will it take to reach Washington D.C. with the Gospel in the summer of 2026. It can only be done with God’s blessing and your support. Help us if you can.
