WANT TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL IN DC?
The DC Gospel Outreach is looking for groups and individuals to come to Washington, DC, in June and July of 2026 to help us reach the city's residents and guests with the Gospel. Youth groups can help us canvas neighborhoods with door hangers. Individuals wishing to be more stationary can distribute John and Romans at metro stations or work areas of the National Mall.
If you want to take a summer missions trip to the nation’s capital to help us reach the Gospel, then do these things:
Organize a group. Find individuals in your church who are interested in spreading the Gospel and see if they would be willing to raise funds to come to Washington, DC, for a minimum of 3 days during June or July of 2026.
Contact the DC Gospel Outreach. Contact us by clicking here or emailing info@dcgospel.org. We will answer questions and put you on the summer schedule. We will also assist you in estimating the cost of your trip. We will be working with hotels to find the best rates and locations for the easiest access to the Metro.
Count the cost. There will be a financial and physical cost. Individuals and groups will need to raise money to cover living expenses for their time in DC. This will include housing, Metro passes, and food. There will be variables to consider, such as how many people can stay in a hotel room and the food choices you would like. Volunteers need the physical stamina to stay in an area for a couple of hours to distribute Gospel literature or walk through neighborhoods to distribute door hangers.
Keep in touch. Once you have determined the number in your group and the dates, we will communicate to help you find the best logistics and pricing for your group. While you will be responsible for booking your accommodations, we will help you plan for travel in the city, food options, and other details. We want to make this trip as simple and effective as possible.
Watch training videos. In the two months before summer, we will be posting videos to help you get familiar with DC before you come. We will give you tips about ministering in the city and do our best to prepare you for your summer ministry.
Pray. Without prayer, we are powerless. Pray for God to open the minds of those blinded by the devil. Pray for the safety of all of the volunteers. Pray for God to arrange divine appointments and that many will come to Christ. Pray, pray, pray.
We must have volunteers if DC is going to be reached with the Gospel. Pray about joining us.
